Another day with a lot of driving involved. We went to the Wilsons Promontory National Park, 3h from Melbourne. The long drive was worth it as "The Prom" offers stunning coastal sceneries. There is a AU$10 entrance fee per car to pay at the entrance of the park and then a 30min drive takes you to Tidal River, the only town of the National Park, where there is one cafe and one take away...nothing else! We did a great 3h walk to Pillar point and Squeaky Beach. The track follows for a while the Tidal River and then heads to Pillar Point which gives you a nice point of view. Moreover you stand on impressive huge granite rocks. The walk to Squeaky Beach offers great coastal views and the beach itself is beautiful, made of pure quartz sand that is squeaky underfoot (see video). We wished we could stay longer to be able to do a few more of the great walks the park offers and also enjoy the great beaches it has.
