We left Coffs Harbour under the rain so we did not really take some time to visit this town. We stopped for lunch at Maclean, a pretty town which likes to describe itself as the most Scottish town in Australia. We checked out the lookout but were not impressed, for sure the bad weather did not help. We then had lunch next to the river and we saw two very colourful parrots but struggled to take a good picture of them as they kept moving. After lunch we drove to Yamba and liked a lot the nice wetlands around this town. We checked out Angourie Point, a nearby famous beach for surfers. The waves were not the best and the weather was still very cloudy so we did not stay long. Just before arriving in Lennox Head we stopped at a lookout offering very nice views on the coast. The sun was finally out but the water was still not of its usual beautiful blue colour as it was carrying all the mud brought by the flooded river Tweed. However the views were still very nice. We checked in at the very small YHA just across the beach. As we could not go for a swim due to the poor quality of the water, we went instead for a walk along the beach. Lennox Head has a very nice beach but the town itself is very small and there is not a great choice of cafes and restaurants. It is still a nice option if all the hostels are booked in Byron Bay as it is located only a few kilometers south.
