HAPPY NEW YEAR!
BONNE ANNEE!
SZCZESLIWEGO NOWEGO ROKU!
While James and Nicky were recovering from their New Years Eve party we went to the city centre. From Circular Quay we walked up to the Sydney Opera House and took a lot of postcards like photos. Afterwards we went to the Royal Botanic Gardens. We checked out from Mrs Macquaries Point the great view on the opera and the bridge. We spent nearly 2h exploring the Botanic Gardens. We loved the Succulent Garden where we saw lots of different types of cacti and also massive spiders! Near the palm house there is a colony of grey-headed flying foxes, it was fun to watch those huge bats, one of the biggest type of bats in the world. Afterwards we walked up to Darling Harbour via Macquarie St, Hyde Park, St Mary's cathedral, Park St and the Town Hall. We really liked the relaxed atmosphere in Darling Harbour. We saw a submarine outside the Maritime Museum and walked on the Pyrmont Bridge along the monorail. We then went to the rocks walking along St Georges St and checked out Queen Victoria Building, a very nice building with shops, coffee places and a massive animated clock. We wandered a bit in the small pedestrian streets of The Rocks and after taking a few more pictures of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House from Dawes Point we headed back to Bondi. It was a great day, we really love Sydney which is a great city.
