We have been a bit lazy....for a change!!! We stayed up to 10am in our nice hostel to relax!!! In fact it was raining so we left the hostel only when the rain stopped :). We did some shopping in the centre and had lunch on Cathedral square where we found nice take away places (trailers in the centre of the square). To be honest we found Christchurch nice but not that special. At the end of the afternoon we drove towards the west coast up to Arthur's Pass Village where we stayed for the night. The road up to this very small place goes through very nice arid landscapes. When arriving near the village the vegetation changes and there is some very green forests. The weather changed also as it was raining a lot. We stayed at the only hostel of the village which had a very warm and comfy lounge.
