We got up early as we wanted to walk to "El Muro de las lacrimas". A guy tried to convice us the day before that it was too far (8 Km) to go there walking and that we should get a taxi or rent a bike (...he was trying to get us to spend money with his friends!) but we were pretty confident we could do the walk. At the begining of the trail we met a local guy and when we ask him if we were on the right trail to go the the site he said it was but added that it was very far and was very surprised we wanted to walk there. That did not stop us and we have been rewarded, as we had the most amazing walk. Along the trail there were many sites to visit, beautiful beaches, lakes, lots of sea iguanas (we saw a lot of babies on the "playa del amor") and the vegetation was amazing, very dry with a lot of cactuses and always the soil was made of lava. Then the trail left the coast and went into this forest of cactus and we kind of realise what the locals meant by a very long walk. But we made it to the Mirador from where we had an amazing view and finally reached "El Muro de las Lacrimas" (=The wall of tears). It used to be a prison on this site and the prisonners built this massive wall (120 metres long and 10 metres high). We met some Ecuadorians that were also visiting the site and who came by car...so for $1each they drove us back to the village. After a very nice lunch at our favorite restaurant 'Oasis' we went for a bay tour. We saw lots of sea lions, sea iguanas and even some sharks (small ones that would not attack humans) and a big manta ray. The other people on the tour did swim with a sea lion but we stayed in the boat as the water and weather was too cold for swimming, so instead we had a little chat with the guide and the captain of our small boat. We ended a great day with a lovelly meal at our favorite restaurant but soon it was time to say goodbye as we will catch the daily boat to Santa Cruz tomorrow morning at 6am.
