We walked to Cathedral Cove in the morning, a very nice beach with golden sand and impressive cliffs, we really enjoyed the vegetation and landscapes on the way (1h30 return taking our time, we could have done it in half this time!). Back at the car park we walked to Hahei beach, a nice walk with great views (1h return). Then we drove to "Hot Water Beach", a beach where hot water comes up from natural springs, so if you dig a hole in the sand you can create your own spa. Unfortunately we came at high tide and the springs are only accessible 2h either side of low tide. In the afternoon we drove along the coast up to Rotorua seeing very nice landscapes on the way.
