Today we had another story with the car. In the morning we left Picton and drove to Nelson via the Queen Charlotte Drive which offers great views on the Malborough sound. In Nelson we had a look at the grey Art Deco cathedral but did not like it that much and did some shopping in this lively town. When we came back to the car Laurence managed to close the boot of the car with the keys inside....and all the other doors of the car locked... we had to get a mechanic to open the car for us! After this stressful event we had a relaxing lunch in the pretty Isel Park and then drove towards Marahau. We stopped on the way at Rabbit Island found it nice but not that nice and also stopped at Kaiteriteri to have a look at the beach which again was nice but not that special. In total it was only 3h drive but with all the stops we made we arrived in Marahau only at 5.30pm (we left Picton at 9am!).
