We left Wanaka early and drove to Queenstown via Cardona, we really enjoyed this scenic road. We stopped in Queenstown to buy some food and check out this famous town from where we will fly to Australia! We really liked it but soon continued our journey towards Te Anau. The road between Queenstown and Te Anau is very good, straight and quite flat (which is very rare in New-Zealand!), so it took us only 2h30 to get to Te Anau including a lunch break and numerous photo stops (the view on the mountains being very nice). We had a nice afternoon in Te Anau, a very pleasant town at the bottom of the lake Te Anau. We did some shopping, walked along the lake and had nice cakes at the Olive Tree Cafe.
