Friday 30/11/2007 - NEW-ZEALAND (North Island), Taupo "We got a nail!"




Taupo is nicer than Rotorua but the town does not have much charm. The lake side is nice and you have a great view on the summits of the Tongariro National Park which are on the other side of the lake. In the morning we did some shopping, explored the town and also solved a little problem with our car, we had to fix one of the tyre as it got a nail stuck in it. In the afternoon we did a lovely walk up to the top of Mt Tauhara. The walk is easy (2h30 return) and takes you through a very nice forest along a narrow track, moreover from the top the view is splendid.
