We caught the packed 6.30am bus to go to Cruz del Condor to see some condors....we saw some but from far! When we got of the bus at Cruz del Condor the controlers came to check if we had the Boleto touristico....that we did not buy and did not want to buy! We told them we bought it in the canyon but left it with our guide. They did not want to listen, so we had to go away and "stay on the road". We still went close to the canon and hided behind a big rock. We had to wait only half an hour until a condor decided to go up the canyon. We could see it quite well, but it would have been better from Cruz del Condor. Around 9.30am we caught the bus to Arequipa and appreciated that we booked seats, as the bus was packed. Up to Chivay (the first village of the canyon) we could enjoy another time the beautiful views with more and more cultivated terraces as the canyon became wider. The trip to Arequipa is quite long (5-6h) and the air in the bus is very dusty, but thanks God the landscapes are beautiful and you can as well see some lamas. We could enjoy Arequipa for a few more hours before catching our 7.30pm bus to Cusco (Flores, S/50). We even managed to go back to the creperie Zig Zag to have some delicious crepes & juices with Gilles & Catherine.
