After a very good breakfast, with homemade bread (everyone, well definitely French and Poles would appreciate that after being in Ecuador for a few weeks) we went to the village to look for a horse tour to do on the next day. We have visited 3 agencies, but none did convince us so we left it for later. We then tried to buy some stamps for our postcards, but the post office don't sell stamps in Vilcabamba! You can buy some in a shop that opens only in the afternoon. We wanted to do some hiking so we went to the Rumiwilco Reserve 10min from the village which offers many hiking tracks. We walked 3h and at one stage climbed a very steep trail which gave us a very nice view of Vilcabamba valley. We then had a rest next to the river, Gosia really struggled to cross it...., it was very funny. We returned to our lovely hotel to rest on our private terrace before having a late lunch at Natural Yogurt (on the main plaza). We then tried again to buy stamps but the shop that was now supposed to be opened was closed. We have been lazy the rest of the evening enjoying the quietness of Vilcabamba and had another nice meal at Shantas.
