Day 5: Pai - Chiang Mai

The last day of our trip went fine, no rain, no sliding :) We visited the Pai Canyon as it was on our way just a few kilometers out of town. Not that impressive, nothing to do with the Colca Canyon in Peru (!), but still nice. To reach it we did a 5min walk within some trees that have giant leaves (see pictures). We also stopped to see a geyser but the Bh400 entrance fee pull us off. Again we had a lovely cappuccino at the charming coffee place we had already stopped a few days ago (Coffee Hill). The last 30 kilometers via the highway before arriving in Chiang Mai were tiring as there was a lot of traffic. In town the traffic was crazy, Gosia was driving and Laurence was reading the map as we tried to make our way to the bus station to buy our ticket to leave Chiang Mai the next day. Somehow we made it! :) In the evening we decided to go to the famous Night Market of Chiang Mai, even if we were quite tired after driving so many kilometers. It was really worth it. This market is huge, and it is hard to not spend a lot of money as there is plenty of nice things to buy. We tried to be reasonable but still ended up buying a lot of souvenirs.
