Wednesday 20/02/2008 - THAILAND, Pakbara, Krabi

In Ko Lipe when buying our ferry ticket we also booked a direct bus from La-ngu to Krabi with a transfer from Pakbara to La-ngu included (10km). We were very happy to not have to go back to Hat Yai. We paid Bh350 for the "big bus" but on the ticket that we got given by the agency before entering the bus we saw that the price of this bus is in fact Bh180! With the speed boat that left at 10am we arrived at 11.30am in Pakbara. Less people bugged us getting of the boat and as we had already tickets for the bus we easily got read of them. Waiting for our transfer at 12.30pm to La-ngu we had lunch in a nice restaurant and got to like a bit more Pakbara. A guy then drove us to La-ngu from where we caught the bus to Krabi. The trip to Krabi lasted 4h and the landscapes we crossed were boring. We wanted to stay for the night in Krabi city and not in one of the nearby beach like most tourists do, so from Krabi bus station we got a van for Bh20 each to the street where are all the guesthouses. Double rooms in Krabi cost around 150 to 250 Bahts, and there are plenty of Guesthouses. We stayed at Mr Clean Guesthouse which was comfortable and clean!!!...but turned out to be noisy, the dogs kept us awake for a few hours! In the evening we had a very nice and cheap meal at the night market.
