Saturday 05/01/2008 - AUSTRALIA (New South Wales), Sydney

Today we spent most of the day planning the rest of our trip in Australia and after a lot of research on the Internet we rented a car with Hertz at a reasonable price (AU$30/day) to drive up to Brisbane. Initially we wanted to drive up to Cairns but we realised that in 10 days it will be impossible and moreover the weather forecasts for Queensland did not look very good. A cyclone had just passed Darwin and the beaches on all the coast from Cairns to Fraser Island were closed. Morevover there was some flooding around Lismore next to the Gold Coast.
