We only managed to leave Riobamba at around 1pm as Laurence had to sort out her insurance claim. Before we entered the bus we picked up a quick meal at KFC, which was by the station. The place was brand new and very clean. A piece of chicken, some fries, a drink and a biscuit costs $1.85. It was very tasty. The bus ride cost $6 and lasted 6h. The trip was so long because the roads are in very bad condition (lots of holes) and as the bus has to go up and down the mountains it travels at low speed. We arrived in Cuenca by night and caught a cab to the centre ($2). The hotel we wanted to go to was full so we took a room at the best hotel out of the not very nice hotels we found in the area. We then had a very relaxing evening at a German bar called Wunder Bar serving good food and where you can play pool (Gosia won).
